Our Story
We started with one goal: to create a safe space for youth in Cedar Rapids.
Back in 2016, after several tragic youth deaths near Redmond Park, a community task force called SET (Safe, Equitable, and Thriving Communities) came together. Their findings were clear: youth violence wasn't just about crime it was rooted in deeper issues like disconnectedness, hopelessness, and the lack of real opportunities and resources. Add in easy access to weapons, and it created a tough environment for young people to grow up in.
Looking at the data and hearing from the community, we knew Cedar Rapids needed a place where youth could find encouragement, mentorship, life skills, and pathways to jobs.
Since 2020, Kingdom Community Center has been building a safe and welcoming space where youth can thrive through relationships, mentorship, recreation, learning, and encouragement.

Faith That Moves Us
Everything we do is rooted in our faith. We believe in a God who redeems, restores, and calls His people to love and serve. We teach truth from Scripture, model the character of Christ, and prepare students for eternity—not just success today.
We are unapologetically Christ-centered because only Jesus can truly transform lives and communities.
Our Core Values
Character
Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.
– Philippians 4:8Opportunity
We have been called to live in freedom but don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
– Galatians 5:13Relationship
Above all, keep loving others earnestly since love covers a multitude of sins.
– 1 Peter 4:8Eternity
For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
– John 3:16
